Building my personal website

Hi, just built this website and blog so that i have a space on the internet to share cool stuff and do what i like.

If you are looking to do the same here is how i did it.

First of all i had some experience with WordPress long ago and i do not recommend it, it is archaic.

I used Next.js and vercel before so i thought why not use them ?

I began to try to find a template and found this one that has 10k stars and seems good.

But when i started using it, a lot of stuff to configure, things i wont use, obscure abstracted code.

So i decided to delete everything and start from scratch, asked Claude code to build a Next.js blog, fixed bugs, improved look,

What is great is that it took me like 1h with Claude, i have only what i really need, i can extend and customize it as i want.

For the technical details, i used Next.js, Tailwind css, MDX notes saved in git for the blog posts, hosted on vercel for free with custom domain setup, ... I'm sure you are smart enough to figure out the rest.

With the current state of AI, it is most of the time easier, faster and better to start from scratch than to begin from a template.

So if you want to do the same spin up VSCode, launch Claude and follow your own vibes, not premade ones.
